Piercing for headaches – which ones could they be?

There are different ear piercings that our guests have found effective for different problems. In the category of piercings for headaches, those who already have one recommend two wellbeing body jewels: the migraine and the Shenmen. Let’s look at them in more detail!

Migraine piercing – not only for migraine?

Among piercings for headaches, the migraine piercing is the one most often requested. This little jewel has already helped several thousand people at our studio too to overcome the tormenting complaints caused by headaches. The fold above the ear canal jewel pierced into it, for many of our guests, reduced the frequency and intensity of their headaches.

Frontiers in Neurology published a case in 2017presenting the story of a 54-year-old man who struggled with chronic migraine attacks. Almost every drug therapy had already been tried on the patient, but his symptoms still did not ease. The man was then included in the study carried out by Frontiers, during which regular ear acupuncture was performed on both his ears. After the treatments he needed fewer painkillers and took the mild tablet only about four times a month, at the lowest dose.

If you would like to find out more about the migraine piercing, in this article of mine you can find the answer to all your questions!

Shenmen piercing: for stress and headaches?

There are 5 main acupuncture areas in the ear (the NADA points), one of the most important of which is Shenmen. It means “Divine gate”. This area is located in the uppermost segment of the auricle. This point has been used in China for more than 2,500 years for insomnia, memory problems, irritability and addiction.

Why can it be counted among the piercings for headaches? Although there is not enough medical research showing that the Shenmen piercing eases migraine and other headache complaints, more and more patients notice that after the piercing was inserted their pain and the intensity and frequency of their headache attacks decreased significantly.

If you would like to find out more about the Shenmen piercing, click here to read my detailed summary.

With which other headaches has the piercing helped?

According to our guests, both the Shenmen and the migraine piercing have helped with the following headaches:

  • migraine (with aura, without aura, and also aura only)
  • weather-sensitive
  • hormonal
  • tension
  • cluster

Reviews of the piercing for headaches

If you are looking for a piercing for headaches, other people’s experiences may be the most telling, so I have now collected for you some of my guests’ reviews of both the migraine and the Shenmen piercing.

My child struggled with constant headaches (and we struggled along with her), then a friend of mine recommended the migraine piercing. I didn’t know that 13-year-olds could have it too, but because of all the medication we finally agreed. Gabi was reassuring and kind, and even though my daughter got overly stressed about it, it remains a positive experience for her. Especially since she has had the piercing for 3 weeks now and doesn’t have to stay in bed every week because of headaches, but can go out with her friends!

First I had a migraine piercing, but somehow it didn’t bring the result I had hoped for. Then about 2 weeks later I went back to Medical Piercing, and they suggested the Shenmen as well. I agreed, because I didn’t want to take any more medication. I can say I absolutely don’t regret it! I am grateful that I didn’t give up, and thank you, Gabi, for your patience! I can only recommend it, especially the two together!

I would prescribe the migraine piercing for everyone! It’s not medication that’s needed here, but this! Thank you that I have been able to live without headaches for 4 weeks now, and I am grateful for the precise, accurate and hygienic work!

I admit I was sceptical, I never believed in such therapies. But then so many acquaintances of mine with migraine had a piercing done, and reported such effects, that I finally decided: it’s worth a shot. And indeed, it REALLY was worth it! For 3 weeks now those headache days when I couldn’t even get up have only been a memory.

I was hopeful, and I have always liked alternative methods. I got the migraine piercing from Gabi, but unfortunately even after two and a half weeks I didn’t feel any change. I called her, got a new appointment, and in the end I also tried a Shenmen in the same ear. I felt the change after just 1 week: as the pain came, so it went. Thank you, and for the guarantee too!

Our wellbeing piercings do not count as a cure and do not replace medical treatment; the description of their effectiveness is based on our guests’ feedback.

Come to me, and during an assessment we will discuss which piercing may be right for you!

* The total number of piercings was higher than this. The statistic is not official. The piercing is not an officially recognised therapeutic device but a wellbeing piece of jewellery, whose effectiveness is based on experience and feedback.
