Healthcare has been part of my whole life.
Ever since I was a child I wanted a profession where I could help people.
I was a very sickly little girl and spent a lot of time in hospital, and when the time came to choose, it became clearer and clearer to me that I wanted to work in healthcare, helping and caring for those in need.
One healthcare school followed another – specialist nurse, graduate nurse, and then I earned a university nursing degree at the University of Pécs Medical School.
The central topic of my university thesis was “psychosomatic conditions”, which was very closely linked to research into the causes of headaches.
I spent more than 20 years in the cardiology unit of the internal medicine department at Nagykanizsa hospital, as a nurse, a specialist nurse and then a ward sister. My family and I moved to Budapest so our children could continue their studies, but without leaving healthcare behind I taught medical subjects (anatomy and physiology, orthopaedics, dermatology, internal medicine) at several vocational schools, and I still do.
I have given talks at several conferences and have had articles published in professional journals.
