What is migraine with aura?
This is a very common type of headache. Its characteristic is that the headache is preceded by sensory disturbances/complaints. Migraine normally comes with a very serious headache and the resulting nausea. With an aura, however, we are talking about more than that: complaints related to sight and hearing as well.
Symptoms of migraine with aura can include:
- sensitivity to light
- sensitivity to sound
- numbness
- muscle weakness
- loss of sensation
- speech disturbances
- visual disturbances (e.g. flashes, shimmering, zigzags, the appearance of a blind spot, and even loss of vision)
The cause of migraine with aura is still unknown, there are certain factors that can trigger it, for example stress, strong/flickering light, certain foods, medications, oversleeping or, in women, menstruation.

Many of our guests reported that after the migraine piercing was inserted their headache complaints decreased significantly after just 1–2 days.
The effects of the migraine piercing have already been examined in research
The London Migraine Clinic, in a in the study carried out people with migraine who had received a migraine piercing were included.
The results of the study are as follows:
- 75% of the participants state that after the piercing was placed their headaches eased significantly or went away completely
- 82% of those with the piercing are completely satisfied
- only 11% reported that they did not notice a significant change after the piercing
According to the doctors who carried out the study, Dr Chris Blatchley and Professor Arnold Wilkins, this procedure puts less strain on the body than constant use of medication, and if the piercing is done by the right specialist, the rate of positive results may be even higher.
Migraine piercing reviews
If you are hesitating about whether to try the migraine piercing for migraine with aura, a few reviews from people who already wear this wellbeing body jewel may help. Let’s look at them!
First I had a migraine piercing, but somehow it didn’t bring the result I had hoped for. Then about 2 weeks later I went back to Medical Piercing, and they suggested the Shenmen as well. I agreed, because I didn’t want to take any more medication. I can say I absolutely don’t regret it! I am grateful that I didn’t give up, and thank you, Gabi, for your patience! I can only recommend it, especially the two together!
I have struggled with migraine since I was a teenager; I regularly had to miss a few hours of school, at least once a month. As an adult, this wretched headache was also a burden in the world of work, then a colleague told me about the migraine piercing. It has been about 4 weeks since Gabi inserted the migraine piercing for me, and since then my complaints have decreased so much that I no longer have to take sick leave every month because of it.
It has been 4 weeks now since I said goodbye to headaches, and I feel I will never miss them. I recommend the Shenmen and the migraine piercing together to everyone, they are extremely effective! I wouldn’t have thought both were needed, but it was absolutely worth it!

It is also very easy to reach by public transport: from the Buda side, or from Nyugati, take tram 4 or 6 to the Jászai Mari tér stop; from Lehel tér, take trolleybus 76 and get off at the Radnóti Miklós utca stop, from where my studio is just a few minutes’ walk.
