Weather sensitivity makes life harder for many people. As we face more and more changeable weather, complaints may also appear in people who had never even felt a cold or warm front before.
But how did the migraine piercing work against weather sensitivity for our guests? How is it inserted? Stay with me, and on top of all this you can find out everything about weather sensitivity too!
Migraine piercing for weather sensitivity?
According to our guests, one of the most effective body jewels for weather sensitivity is the migraine piercing.
We have received the following feedback about the migraine piercing:
- headaches decreased
- anxiety and other unpleasant symptoms easedthat weather sensitivity may have caused
The placement of the migraine piercing is located in the fold above the ear canal, on a cartilage area, which is why the healing time may take.
According to many of our guests, this piercing helped not only with migraine, the complaint in its name, but also worked for them in easing the following headaches:
- weather-sensitive
- tension
- cluster
- hormonal

Reports on the positive effects of the migraine piercing
Many have told us that after the migraine piercing was inserted their headache complaints decreased significantly after just 1–2 days. The overwhelming majority of our guests, 93%, reported these positive experiences.
The effects of the migraine piercing have also been examined in the following research:
A in the study carried out by the London Migraine Clinic people with migraine who had received a migraine piercing were included.
The results of the study are as follows:
· 75% of the participants state that after the piercing was placed their headaches eased significantly or went away completely
· 82% of those with the piercing are completely satisfied
· only 11% reported that they did not notice a significant change after the piercing
According to the doctors who carried out the study, Dr Chris Blatchley and Professor Arnold Wilkins, this procedure puts less strain on the body than constant use of medication, and if the piercing is done by the right specialist, the rate of positive results may be even higher.
Inserting the migraine piercing
At the Medical Piercing studio, before the piercing, we carry out an assessment. We ask you about your complaints caused by weather sensitivity and other complaints, and your medical history, and we also assess the condition of your ear. Here, for example, we also look into how sensitive you are to pain and whether you have ever fainted.
This is followed by pinpoint-accurate point location, on the basis of which we can be sure that the chosen piercing goes in the right place. After all this, the piercing itself takes only a few moments. My guests describe the related pain like this: “as if some insect had just stung me”, which passed almost immediately after the piercing was placed.
For the first piercing, by the way, the jewellery is made of medical-grade metal, which we sterilise in an autoclave at the studio.
Once the jewellery is in place, we chat a little more, while you are sitting in the chair, to make sure that everything is fine with you. At this point we discuss all the further important tasks you need to follow during the healing time of the migraine piercing. Don’t worry about not being able to remember them all, because later, among other things, you will also receive information about this by e-mail.
We don’t leave you on your own! After two weeks we call you to ask whether everything is fine with you, whether you feel the positive effects of the piercing and whether it has worked against weather sensitivity. If not, under the guarantee we arrange a new appointment to do the migraine piercing in your other ear as well.
Everything you wanted to know about weather sensitivity
Weather sensitivity is a condition in which the senses become extremely sensitive to changes in the weather. This sensitivity can even cause stress, discomfort or various pains (e.g. headaches) for the individual.
The problem is often linked to other conditions, for example autism spectrum disorder (ASD), anxiety disorders, migraine or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
Headaches are mostly triggered by a warm front, which often occurs in older people, women and people with a weak immune system too. Changes in temperature, wind and air humidity can also have a negative effect on people struggling with various types of headache and with the migraine mentioned above.
Typical symptoms of weather sensitivity:
- Sensitivity to sound: Sounds become louder or unpleasant. Even quiet noises can be disturbing, while louder noises can trigger pain or anxiety.
- Sensitivity to light: Very bright light and certain light sources (for example flashing lights, a computer screen or even strong sunshine) can trigger unpleasant reactions.
- Sensitivity to smells: Certain scents or strong smells are disturbing and can even trigger headaches.
- Sensitivity to touch: Certain materials, items of clothing or even touch itself can cause discomfort or irritation on the skin.
Reactions to a weather front can vary: for some these sensitivities can cause serious discomfort, while for others they are only minor disturbing factors.
For weather sensitivity, the migraine piercing may be an excellent alternative solution, which may contribute to a better quality of life by reducing headaches and anxiety.
Our wellbeing piercings do not count as a cure and do not replace medical treatment; the description of their effectiveness is based on our guests’ feedback.
