Migraine piercing for tension headaches?

Tension headache is one of the most common types of headache and can make everyday life miserable. What can you do about tension headaches? You can find out from my article below, in which I also cover what you need to know about migraine piercing and reviews of it.

What you need to know about tension headaches

Tension headaches affect many people and can easily be confused with migraine. The essential difference between the two is that tension headache is not accompanied by nausea, vomiting or visual disturbances, nor is the complaint intensified by movement or bright light.

Typical symptoms can be:

  • dull, aching pain
  • the pain can spread to the whole head, as if it were being squeezed by a “rubber band”
  • alongside the pain, pressure can develop on the forehead and on the sides and back of the head
  • the face, neck and shoulder muscles can cramp
  • the scalp, face, neck and shoulders can become sensitive

This type of headache has two forms: episodic (can last from 30 minutes up to 1 week), chronic (the headache can last from hours up to 15 days).

The most common triggers of tension headaches can be:

  • stress
  • tightness of the neck and face muscles and the scalp
  • sensitivity to pain

For tension headaches: treatment options

There is also a lot you can do to prevent tension headaches developing. For example:

· regular exercise

· healthy eating

· relaxation / meditation

· improving sleep quality

· plenty of fluids

· regular detoxing

You can even use these methods at the same time. The more you use, the more effective prevention will be!

Tension complaints that have already developed can be treated with medication, psychotherapy, acupuncture (e.g. migraine piercing), massage and even breathing exercises as well.

For tension headaches: this is how migraine piercing helped many people

Indeed, based on the principles of acupuncture healing practice, it was observed that by stimulating (pressing, piercing) points treated along the energy lines of our body the body’s balance can be restored.

A migraine piercing trend only began to spread in the Western world in the 1990s, first as fashion jewellery. Later many people reported its positive effects on headaches.

This wellbeing body jewellery is placed in the fold above the ear canal, so it keeps the cranial nerve X, called the vagus, under constant stimulation. According to many of our guests, this constant stimulation had a pain-relieving, calming and anxiety-reducing effect on them.

Doctors’ opinions on migraine piercing

Nowadays few doctors take a position on acupuncture or acupressure, or on ear piercings; nevertheless, the trend of making use of the beneficial effects of body jewellery is growing, and so more and more doctors recommend it as a complementary therapy.

Although opinions differ widely in medical circles too, fortunately this is a method that is risk-free, so no medical referral is needed for the piercing.

My story with migraine piercing

In my life, migraine already appeared in my childhood, and stayed with me for years afterwards. As an adult I worked in healthcare, and at that time I underwent almost every examination, but no organic cause was found for my headaches.

By then there had already been periods when 2–3 months went by in which I struggled with the pain every single day.

In my despair I had already tried every medication suitable for relieving headaches, but each only eased the symptoms; none was really effective.

Two years before that, an ambulance took me to hospital 3 times after I lost consciousness, which was triggered by a very strong migraine attack. Of course, examinations were carried out here too, but without a useful result.

At that point I had had enough of my situation and decided that it could not go on like this! I had to find the best solution for me!

On a friend’s recommendation I decided to try migraine piercing, but I only really began to feel its effect much later, in the 2nd–3rd week. Headaches did still appear in the first months, but I hardly had to take any medication; they eased on their own. I simply couldn’t believe it!

As time went by, the pain appeared less and less often and today headaches strike very rarely, and even then with mild symptoms.

As migraine piercing worked so quickly and effectively for me, I decided that I would like to work with it so that I could help fellow sufferers. My experience also shows, and I also believe, that this piercing can be an excellent alternative method for tension headaches too!

Reviews of the migraine piercing

My guests’ reviews of migraine piercing:

I was looking for an alternative solution because of frequent headaches, as I didn’t want to bombard my body with medication. I am grateful to Gabi, who, with her precise work and thorough assessment, pierced my ear properly and painlessly the very first time. For 2 weeks now my head has hurt much less often, and even when it does, I just lie down and don’t need to take any medication.

There’s no point taking medication unnecessarily – get the migraine piercing done as soon as possible (together with the Shenmen). You can be sure of its effect! This is the message from an experienced, enthusiastic “fan”!

I have struggled with tormenting headaches for years, because unfortunately my neck muscles constantly tense up due to stress. Since the piercings (Shenmen and migraine), however tense my neck gets, fortunately the headaches no longer torment me. Thank you to Gabi for the precise piercing!

Our wellbeing piercings do not count as a cure and do not replace medical treatment; the description of their effectiveness is based on our guests’ feedback.

* The total number of piercings was higher than this. The statistic is not official. The piercing is not an officially recognised therapeutic device but a wellbeing piece of jewellery, whose effectiveness is based on experience and feedback.
