Ear piercing for allergies? – what you should know

Allergies make life miserable for many people. Most people try to get rid of the tormenting symptoms with medication, so that a blocked nose, runny nose or itchy eyes get in the way of their everyday life less. However, these are rarely effective, and even then can only be taken for a short while.

The ear piercing for allergies has already helped many people with pollen, dust mite, mould and animal allergies.

Based on feedback from many of our guests, the piercing has reduced tormenting allergy symptoms and shortened this long period.

Although the piercing may involve a brief, unpleasant pain, many of our guests recommend this body jewellery for the positive effects of the ear piercing for allergies. Those who have gone for it so far have not regretted it!

If you too struggle with allergies and are toying with this method, read through my detailed summary of the ear piercing for allergies below!

How does the ear piercing for allergies work?

Among the traditional healing methods from ancient China, the principle of acupuncture is that the body contains various energy channels (meridians) along which life energy (Qi, or chi) flows. If a blockage forms anywhere, the body’s balance is disrupted, and as a result illness may develop.

According to TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine), along the meridians certain points can be stimulated (by pressing or piercing them) to release the blockages that have formed, and so the balance of the organ can also be restored. As a result, the symptoms of the illness may ease or even go away.

The ear piercing for allergies is also placed in such a point, just like the migraine, a Shenmenor the Slim.

Where is the ear piercing for allergies placed?

The ear piercing for allergies goes on the inner side of the outermost fold, which is why in English it is called a helix piercing. The recommended length of the jewellery is 8 mm if it is a labret type (elongated), but a ring can also be placed in this area.

For which allergies is it recommended?

Below I have collected for you the problems with which the ear piercing for allergies has already helped our guests.

Pollen

This type of allergy may be familiar to many, and it can affect a great many people. We can be allergic to various pollens, and it may be that only one kindis the trigger, but it is not unusual for several substances to cause such a violent reaction in the body.

Over the year, this can look like this:

· From February: hazel, ash, alder, birch

· April to midsummer: cereals, grasses

· From August: ragweed, nettle, plantain, mugwort

· And moulds can cause allergy complaints right up to October.

The collective name for the symptoms of pollen allergy is hay fever. They can include:

  • itching
  • sneezing
  • runny nose
  • blocked nose
  • watery eyes
  • red conjunctiva

Dust mites

Dust mites are microscopic creatures, so they are invisible to the human eye. We mostly become aware of their presence in the case of allergy. Damp, dusty places are a good breeding ground for these tiny creatures, and they like to feed on pollen, dead skin cells of people and animals, and fungi. In addition to the classic symptoms of hay fever, they cause itchy skin at night and skin redness .

Animals

Many people think they are allergic to animal hair. But this is wrong! In fact, the protein found in animals’ glands and saliva can cause itching, watery eyes, a blocked nose and a runny nose in the people affected.

Mould

Moulds like damp places, and they can be found not only indoors but also outdoors. Their allergens enter the human body through inhalation and contact, and trigger the typical symptoms of allergy.

Reviews of the ear piercing for allergies

Let my guests’ experiences speak for me:

I love my cat very much, but unfortunately last year my allergy to animal hair appeared. I didn’t want to part with Marci under any circumstances, so I looked for an alternative method so that I wouldn’t have to take medication either. That is how I ended up with Gabi, thanks to whom the ear piercing for allergies brought the effect I had hoped for!

I have been tormented by pollen allergy since childhood, and it was mainly the blocked nose that made my days difficult. I had already tried all kinds of methods and medication, but after a while they all stopped working. So far this ear piercing for allergies seems good, so I am very hopeful!

All I would say is that if you have allergies, GET THE EAR PIERCING FOR ALLERGIES DONE RIGHT NOW and you will never regret it!

First of all, thank you to Gabi for her patient and reassuring approach to the piercing. I was very scared! And secondly, thank you to my friends who talked me into this procedure! Since I have had my ear piercing for allergies, my symptoms have been much milder, so my days are completely liveable!

Goodbye runny nose, blocked nose and eye rubbing! I can’t believe it, but this piercing really worked! Thank you, Gabi!

What positive effects of the ear piercing for allergies have people experienced?

As you saw above, the ear piercing for allergies has been effective for many of our guests with pollen, dust mite, mould and animal allergies. But what did they experience as a result of the piercing?

Most reported the following:

· after the piercing was placed, their allergy symptoms eased significantly, especially itchy eyes, runny nose and blocked nose

· many have also found that the allergy season became shorter: they experienced their usual complaints for a shorter time and much more mildly.

Where can I get an ear piercing for allergies?

For now, only a few studios offer the ear piercing for allergies, but let me show you where to find mine.

You will find the Medical Piercing studio in downtown Pest, at Újpesti rakpart 7 , near Jászai Mari tér.

If you come by car, parking is available on the embankment, close to the studio.

If you come by public transport from the Buda side or from Nyugati station, take tram 4 or 6 to the Jászai Mari tér stop; from Lehel tér take trolleybus 76to the Radnóti Miklós utca stop, from where the studio is just a few minutes’ walk.

If you choose Medical Piercing, you can benefit from the following:

  • Your ear piercing for allergies is placed by a specialist with both a healthcare and a cosmetics background.
  • You can have a thorough assessment before the piercing.
  • I don’t leave you on your own after the piercing either: I remain happy to help, and you regularly receive information about the piercing.
  • Under the guarantee, if you notice no improvement even after 28 days, I will place a reinforcing piercing for you for the price of a new piercing.
  • The price includes the piercing itself, made of medical-grade metal, which I sterilise in an autoclave.
  • If you buy a piercing in the studio’s webshop and collect it in person, I will help you change it later.
  • I do the piercing in an easily accessible, well-equipped studio in the city centre.

How is the piercing done?

When you arrive at my studio, I carry out an assessment before the piercing. I consider this important so that I can assess what kind of allergy you have and whether the ear piercing for allergies may help, and if you have any questions about it, we can talk them through. After the questions – in which I also cover your medical history – I examine the condition of your ear.

After all this, using precise point location, I mark the place of the ear piercing for allergies. Your first piercing will be jewellery made of medical-grade metal sterilised in an autoclave .

After this, the piercing itself takes only a few minutes, which surprises all my guests. Meanwhile you may feel only an unpleasant sensation like an insect bite, but if you are unsure about the pain of the piercing, I have written a more detailed summary in this article, and I will also come back to it later here in a short paragraph.

IMPORTANT! If you know you find pain harder to bear, or even tend to faint, please let me know during the assessment (although I always ask about this myself too), and in this case I will pay closer attention and, if needed, let you rest longer after the piercing. After insertion we always chat a little more in the chair, while I observe the area around the wound and the condition of the ear.

If everything went well, I let you go home, but after that you also regularly receive information from me by e-mail, from which, among other things, you can also learn a lot about caring for the piercing.

I think it is important not to leave my guests on their own later on either, which is exactly why I usually wait 1–2 weeks for the piercing to take effect, and after that I contact you to check that everything is fine, whether you feel any effect, and to discuss the next steps if needed.

How much does placing an ear piercing for allergies hurt?

As the placement of the ear piercing for allergies follows a preliminary point location, the piercing itself happens in moments, and at most you may feel an unpleasant sensation like an insect bite, which passes almost immediately after the medical-grade metal is inserted; at most a little numbness and throbbing in the ear may remain for a few minutes.

However, the perception of pain may depend on many factors, for example:

· your current stress level

· the fluids and nutrients you have taken in

· how tired you are

· the menstrual cycle

For many people, this unpleasant sensation is soon forgotten once they experience the positive effects of the ear piercing for allergies.

What should I look out for after getting the piercing?

Every piece of body jewellery, including the ear piercing for allergies, needs careful aftercare. The piercing site is a puncture wound that requires basic aftercare for a few weeks.

For a few days after the piercing it is normal for the wound to bleed a little, and your ear may be tender for a while!

Because it is a cartilage area, the healing time of the piercing may be 6–12 weeks, but this can vary from person to person, so please be patient!

Let’s look at the important aftercare steps for the ear piercing for allergies:

  • After the piercing has been placed, it is a good idea to spray the area morning and evening with Medical Piercing’s own aftercare spray while it is inflamed; then, 2 weeks after the piercing, 1 drop of oil can also go on the wound. You can buy the aftercare kit at our studio.
  • The piercing must not be moved for 10 days; after that, however, it is a good idea to move it gently once a day, ideally during the evening cleaning.

In addition, AVOID the following:

  • touching the jewellery and the area around the wound
  • disinfecting with alcohol
  • soaking in a bath or swimming pool
  • sunbeds, saunas, strong sunshine
  • foundation, face cream and other cosmetics around the ear

Under no circumstances change the jewellery before full healing for another piece! Always wait until the wound has healed.

What should I do if the piercing site becomes inflamed?

In a small percentage of cases the piercing site may become inflamed despite every precaution. In most cases this happens 4–5 weeks after the piercing, if for some reason dirt gets into the wound.

These signs tell you that the piercing site is inflamed:

· an inflamed lump at the entry and exit holes

· the tragus area is red, throbbing, perhaps hot

· the Slim piercing site is painful

· a burning sensation around the wound

What you can do straight away:

· In this case, use Medical Piercing’s own aftercare spray morning and evening while the piercing site is inflamed; then, 2 weeks after the piercing, 1 drop of oil can also go on the wound.

· Keep your ear as sterile as possible, and rinse it 2–3 times a day with the solution above.

How much does it cost? – The price of the ear piercing for allergies

At Medical Piercing, the price of the ear piercing for allergies is only 24,900 HUF, which includes:

  • assessment
  • manual, pinpoint-accurate point location
  • immediate placement of the piercing
  • piercing made of medical-grade metal, sterilised in an autoclave
  • guest follow-up, the option of giving feedback
  • regular information by e-mail about what you need to know about the piercing

What does the guarantee mean?

In a small percentage of cases you may not notice any improvement after the piercing has been placed. This is when the guarantee comes into force, under which, if the jewellery does not bring the expected result within 28 days, then for the price of another piercing I will pierce your other ear too, so that we boost the effect with a reinforcing piercing.
